This is a piece of poetry written by my beautiful and talented friend and writer, Ahna Fryhover. Part goddess, part storyteller, part artist, part healer and nurturer, she speaks truth by the fire side in the night. Weaving words together, making art, the tapestry; mirroring our current culture, putting forth the truths needed to make change. Thank you dear friend, for your words.

You Said They Should Move On Already

but can you imagine
that they took your man
and they took your baby

and you cannot hold your dying
and you cannot protect your living
and you hold up your hands to be shackled

and you cannot breathe
and he cannot breathe
and no one can breathe

and you. can. not. breathe.
but you keep
saying sir.

Can you maybe think how
that might feel
like slavery.
